Awaken Cereal

Consider breakfast officially handled. Since I recently found out that I'm allergic to eggs and whey protein, I've had to get really creative with breakfast. I call this the 'Awaken Cereal' recipe because it contains the perfect amount of healthy fats, proteins and fiber to get both your body and mind ready for the day.

Normally, I throw this together in the mornings really quickly and don't do a ton of measuring, so these ingredient measurments are rough estimations. Some mornings I feel like adding more coconut or less chia, so I do, or I'll do more cacao nibs because I've got a chocolate craving...I mean, who doesn't crave chocolate in the morning? Happy eating!

Ingredients ::

Here's my cereal from this morning. I added some of the Julian Bakery paleo coconut flakes to the top along with some fresh strawberries. So good!

Here's my cereal from this morning. I added some of the Julian Bakery paleo coconut flakes to the top along with some fresh strawberries. So good!

1 TBSP chia seeds

2 TBSP hemp seeds

1/4 cup frozen blueberries, strawberries or raspberries

1 TBSP cacao nibs

2 TBSP pure coconut shavings (no sugar added)

1/2 scoop vega protein powder (feel free to use whichever protein powder you like best but this is what I've been using)

1/2 TBSP maca powder

1/2 cup organic coconut milk

Sometimes I'll some paleo coconut flakes from Julian Bakery. They are totally amazing with an even better ingredient list. You can buy them HERE

Mix together and enjoy! It's also really easy to take this cereal to go. Simply put everything into a small baggie (maybe nix the frozen fruit so it doesn't melt) and then add it to a bowl with your coconut milk when you get to where you are going.
